• Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your username, password, and optionally your email address.
• Uploaded Content (WiFi Data): users upload wifi access points they directly observe. This includes SSID, MAC Address (BSSID), Signal Strength, Encryption Type, GPS Coordinates, and other related network details contained in the uploaded files (e.g., VS1, VSZ, VSP). This data is intended for mapping and statistics.
• Communications: When you post on the forum or contact us, we collect the information you provide.

1.2 Information We Collect Automatically

• Log Data: IP address, browser type, operating system, pages viewed, and access times.
• Cookies: We use cookies to manage sessions, remember preferences, and for analytics/advertising.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Mapping and Statistics: The primary purpose of WifiDB is to map user-observed wireless access points. Uploaded data is processed and added to our public database and maps.
• Service Operation: To operate, maintain, and improve the Services.
• Advertising & Analytics: To display relevant ads and analyze site traffic (via Google AdSense and Google Analytics).

3. Sharing of Information

• Public Database: The WiFi data you upload (excluding your personal account details) becomes part of the public WifiDB database and can be viewed, searched, and downloaded by other users.
• No Spying: This text is intended for mapping and statistics and should not be used for spying or malicious purposes.

4. Advertising and Analytics

We use Google AdSense and Google Analytics.

• Google AdSense: Google and its partners may use cookies to show you personalized ads. You can opt out via Google Ads Settings.
• Google Analytics: We use this to understand site usage. You can opt out via the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

5. Data Retention

• WiFi Data: WiFi data uploaded to WifiDB is retained indefinitely as part of our historical database (dating back to 2007). We do not guarantee permanent retention and may delete data to manage storage capacity.
• Account Information: Account information is retained as long as your account exists.
• Deleting Your Uploads: Registered users can delete their own uploads through their account dashboard.
• Account Deletion: Account deletion is not currently available as a self-service feature. To request deletion of your account, please contact us at info@techidiots.net. Upon account deletion, your account information will be removed; however, WiFi data you uploaded may remain in the public database.

6. Your Rights (GDPR/CCPA)

Depending on your location (e.g., EU/EEA, California), you have rights regarding your personal data, such as access, deletion, and objection. You can manage your cookie preferences via our consent banner.
